Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has become one of the best leaders in team history over the last four years he's held the job. Since 2021, only four coaches in league history have a winning percentage as strong as Sirianni.
Now, he's also expected to be one of the richest coaches in football.
Sirianni's extension announcement Monday afternoon came with the Super Bowl-winning coach entering the final year of his contract with the organization. To owner Jeffrey Lurie, the decision was a no-brainer.
"As an organization, we have always strived to create a championship culture of sustained success," Lurie said. "Nothing is more important to fostering such an environment than having tremendous leadership. Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach since we hired him four years ago.
"His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team. I am excited for what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles."
But where exactly does Sirianni go from here?
The Eagles are one of the most talented teams in the league and are the defending Super Bowl champions. Expectations are sky high for the franchise to take the next steps as a potential dynasty.
If Sirianni found a way to lead his team to another title, it wouldn't just make him the greatest coach in team history. That can already be argued through his 48 wins in four years.
Expectations have grown. Another title might put him on a path to being one of the greatest coaches of all-time. …
Something that his critics surely once found hard to imagine.
