Raphinha was of huge importance to Leeds United when they escaped relegation from the Premier League in the 2021/22 season. The Brazilian had provided goals and assists and generally been a driving force as the Whites escaped a return to the Championship.
After his good season there was widespread interest in the Brazilian, with Chelsea trying to secure a deal before Barcelona came in and convinced Raphinha, quite easily, that the Blaugrana was the club for him.
His first season after Leeds United saw struggles and there were repeat claims of Barcelona looking to sell him to a Premier League club. However, Raphinha showed determination just like he had at Leeds United and has done so well he’s now talked about as a Ballon d’Or possibility.
Barcelona have recently secured the title, which has seen Raphinha repeat his act of walking the length of the pitch on his knees to thank God for answering his prayers. He’s previously done so after securing salvation with Leeds United, then did it at the Camp Nou, and has now added Montjuïc to his list.
The Blaugrana are playing at Montjuïc whilst the Camp Nou is being rebuilt, and Raphinha looked like he struggled a little more this, with the footballer’s wife sharing the video on social media.
