Currently, FC Barcelona have three of their players playing away on loans with different clubs. Two of these players, Clement Lenglet and Oriol Romeu, are playing in La Liga with Atletico Madrid and Girona, respectively, while the third, Alex Valle, is playing with the Serie A side Como.
However, none of these players seem to have a future at the Blaugrana club. Alex Valle, who is the youngest of these players and has performed at quite an impressive level this season, understands that his future lies away from Barcelona, and there are three different clubs interested in him.
Clement Lenglet gains importance at Atletico Madrid
Meanwhile, Clement Lenglet has also performed at a good level this season, after having joined the Colchoneros in a complicated loan deal last summer. The Mattress Makers did not get the option to sign him permanently, and the defender had to extend his contract for one more year to adjust his salary to Atletico’s requirements.
Although he started the season on the bench, he went on to become an important defender for Diego Simeone. However, talks between the two clubs for the defender were at a standstill previously, as the Colcheneros wanted to get him for free, while Barcelona wanted to get around €10 million for him, considering the good season he has had.

Enrique Cerezo admits of negotiations with Barcelona
However, things have now changed as SPORT reports that the Atletico Madrid President, Enrique Cerezo, recently admitted in an interview that they are negotiating with Barcelona for Clement Lenglet. In this regard, the top Atletico official said:
“Lenglet is a Barcelona player. We’re going to talk. I imagine there will be an agreement for him to stay with us.”
Cerezo’s words reveal that the operation for his permanent signing is still not dead. However, the Mattress Makers will continue to push the Blaugranes to part ways with him for free, and might also get their way as Clement Lenglet wants only to play for Atletico and Barcelona do not want him in their squad for the upcoming preseason.
