Villarreal star Dani Parejo has been full of praise for Lamine Yamal and has revealed why he thinks the Barcelona teenager is more effective than Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman looks set to scoop the Pichichi award this season in La Liga but Parejo would much rather have Yamal in his team.
“He [Mbappe] hasn’t surprised me as a player with what he can do, even scoring the goals he has, which is crazy, outrageous, but I understand football differently,” he told Cadena SER’s El Larguero.
“Lamine Yamal, scoring 20 goals less, for example, adds much more. The goal is what makes you win things, yes, but playing football is something else.”
“Lamine is a kid who’s been touched by a magic wand. I think he’s a special kid who has something others don’t, which is an understanding of the game. It’s amazing that at 17, he understands it the way he does.”
Yamal has still posted some incredible numbers this season. Barca’s 17-year-old has 18 goals and 21 assists in all competitions so far this season.
