Sources: Chelsea considering deal to sign £200,000-a-week "world-class superstar"

Chelsea fans could see themselves lining up with a 'world-class superstar' next season, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed - with Real Madrid hero Rodrygo being on their radar ahead of a potential move, with the Blues being 'alert' to the opportunity.

Rodrygo joined Madrid six years ago, and has since registered over 250 appearances for the side from the Spanish capital, including 68 goals in that time. But despite earning £200,000-per-week, other stars have limited his game time - and that could see the Premier League club make their move to land him in the summer.

Cole Palmer has featured predominantly as a No.10 for the Blues this season, leaving Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke as their main wingers. But with Sancho failing to pull up any trees in west London, Mykhailo Mudryk being banned from playing for the time being and Christopher Nkunku failing to nail down a first-team space, that could lead the Italian to seek new signings.

With that in mind, sources have revealed that Chelsea - as well as Arsenal - are both alert to the opportunity should the Brazilian find his way onto the market, though there has been no approach yet.

Real are willing to let Rodrygo leave. He's been forced to play on the right-hand side due to the emergence of Vinicius Jr in recent seasons, and the signing of Kylian Mbappe has further placed him down the pecking order, especially given Arda Guler's extended run of minutes under Carlo Ancelotti.

However, both Chelsea and Arsenal know that Rodrygo is best positioned on the left-hand side of the attack, and they both wish to strengthen in that area, with Chelsea keen on an upgrade on their current contingent and Arsenal wanting to improve upon Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

It's thought that Real Madrid will hold out for €100million (£84million) for any interested club to prise him away from the Santiago Bernabeu, but Chelsea and Arsenal are thought to be keen and alert should any developments occur.
