Chelsea are contemplating whether to make a move for Morgan Rogers and could be boosted in their push to lure the Aston Villa star to Stamford Bridge if they seal qualification for the Champions League on the final day of the domestic campaign, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed on the latest episode of our Market Madness podcast.
The Blues are poised to welcome Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian to west London in the coming weeks, with the latter making the switch for an initial £29million from Palmeiras, but head coach Enzo Maresca and members of the recruitment department are eager to bring in further creativity ahead of next season.
Dario Essugo is in line to be another summer arrival, thanks to a deal worth in excess of £18million being agreed with Portuguese giants Sporting after seeing the midfielder enjoy a productive loan spell with La Liga side Las Palmas, but Chelsea are also showing interest in Rogers as plans are put in place to upgrade the squad.

Morgan Rogers in action for Aston Villa
Chelsea have identified Rogers as a genuine target for the summer, according to GMS sources, and they are tempted to test Premier League rivals Aston Villa's resolve by making a formal offer even though there is an awareness that they do not want to sanction his departure ahead of next season.
The Blues will have to splash the cash in order to convince their domestic counterparts to facilitate such a switch as the three-cap England international is heading into the transfer window with a £90million price tag, but the lofty demands have not put the west Londoners off at this stage and he is in their sights.
GMS sources have been informed that there has been a major twist as a move for Rogers, who has enjoyed a productive campaign in his current surroundings, could become more viable for Chelsea if Maresca's side secure their place in next term's Champions League and Aston Villa miss out on the final day of the season later this week.
Morgan Rogers' statistics for Aston Villa this season
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been described as 'frightening' by Sky Sports journalist Dan Bardell and is being eyed in west London as the Blues go in search of bolstering a squad which will go head-to-head with Spanish outfit Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final next week.
Chelsea have not made a bid for Rogers at this stage, GMS sources have learned, but they have discovered that Aston Villa need to sanction a big-money departure to stay on the right side of the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules and if they want to sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent basis from Manchester United.
Rodrygo May Make Switch to Stamford Bridge
Brazilian could be allowed to leave Real Madrid in coming months

GMS sources have been told that Rogers is not the only creative spark being courted by Chelsea ahead of the transfer window reopening for business as Rodrygo is also on their radar and could be allowed to leave La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid if a proposal in the region of £84million is tabled.
Although the Brazilian has a release clause worth close to £850million written into his contract at the Bernabeu, his current employers are showing a willingness to cash in after he has been forced to play on the right-hand side of the attack to accommodate Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe.
Chelsea and Arsenal have been alerted to the potential opportunity to pounce, GMS sources understand, and they would be prepared to deploy Rodrygo on the opposite flank as they are looking to bolster their options in that position and would want to play to his strengths if he embarks on a fresh challenge in London.
