New deal: Frida Maanum stays at Arsenal

Frida Maanum came to Arsenal in 2021 from Linkoping FC in Sweden, making 150 appearances and scoring 40 goals so far. The Norwegian midfielder had a great 2024/2025 season, receiving two Women’s Super League Player of the Month nominations and winning the Goal of the month in November. Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said, “we’re proud to see her delivering strong performances consistently”.

“I think it says a lot when you stay at a club for four years,” said Frida. “I really enjoy playing for this club, I love the fans and I love playing at Emirates. I love how the club has developed over these past four years, so I’m looking forward to being a part of the next years too.

“It means everything to represent this club. I think you can see it in the celebrations. It’s a bit funny when I celebrate like that: I get a bit embarrassed straight after! But in the moment, you just want to enjoy it.

“You almost get a bit crazy when you score a goal in the Emirates and you hear the crowd going crazy. You just want to give that moment to them as well and to share that with them is just a fantastic feeling.”

**Head Coach Renée Slegers added**: “I’m delighted that Frida has signed a new contract here with us. She’s such an important player in the group and has made a big contribution to what we’ve achieved as a group during my time as head coach.

“I know Frida has the ambition and drive to continue striving for improvement as we continue to aim to compete for the highest honours together.”

Arsenal have one more big game to go this season: the [Women’s Champions League](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-champions-league/) final against FC Barcelona on May 24.
