Chelsea will reportedly make a giant squad revamp this summer, and some of the big stars are going to depart Stamford Bridge. These players can be sold on a permanent basis. These include Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, Armando Broja, Axel Disasi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Joao Felix, and Renato Veiga. Selling these players will increase the budget for the club to make a few more permanent signings.
Raheem Sterling is also out on loan at Arsenal. Chelsea are reportedly paying most of his £325,000-a-week wages for the length of the loan. Being on a relatively high wage, an equal wage contribution loan transfer is the most likely solution in this instance. It doesn’t seem certain that they can sell him permanently in this window.
For new business, Real Madrid want midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea do not consider him unsellable, but instead, they have asked for €200 million to deter possible buyers. Fernandez was signed from Benfica in 2023 for €121 million, and his contract runs to 2032.
Meanwhile, the Blues have made Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo unsellable, considering them the future of the club. The rest of the squad are sellable if a reasonable fee is brought to the negotiation table. The club is working to balance the books and reconstruct under manager Enzo Maresca.
Other Players who Could Leave Chelsea This Summer
Trevoh Chalobah has already been informed that he would be a fringe player or be released by the club. He was recalled from his Crystal Palace loan in January during an injury crisis. However, he will end up struggling for a spot in the first team and might need to move elsewhere.
Christopher Nkunku has also been flagged for departure after a disastrous campaign with limited game time. The international has been highly prized by a number of European powerhouses like Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid.
The Blues have reportedly agreed to sell Nkunku, valued at approximately £65 million. However, they would prefer to transfer him to foreign clubs to avoid granting local clubs an added advantage.
