Eagles Jalen Hurts Reciting 3-Word Michael Jordan Mantra at OTAs

The Philadelphia Eagles will always go as far as their Super Bowl MVP quarterback will take them. That much has been known about Jalen Hurts since he became the starting quarterback in Philly since 2021.

And they have had plenty of success to this point as well.

As the Eagles open up OTAs this week as part of their title defense, Hurts is undergoing a minor change in his career. The quarterback who is fond of spouting sayings like "keeping the main thing the main thing" has found a new one to use.

And it's one he learned while speaking with Michael Jordan during the offseason.

Hurts mentioned the "decode, detect, and correct" line throughout his press conference on Tuesday. There's a reason for it, too. He is looking to look through what worked in 2024 (decode), find out what he can improve on (detect), and correct any major mistakes.

Not all quarterbacks or athletes in the league talk like this. There's a reason why: Hurts is as unique a leader as he is a quarterback. ... and what might come across as "bumper-sticker slogans'' elsewhere ring true here.

And the way he has done so, with his array of notable sayings, has helped the Eagles reach new heights for the organization that they never thought possible.
