Among the top offensive lines in the league, the Buffalo Bills aren't necessarily thought of as one of the best. That doesn't mean they aren't, though.
Buffalo's starting offensive line has been among the most consistent in the league. They also have been together the longest of any offensive line around. Longer than the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, or Detroit Lions.
One of the top players the Bills' have on that group is right tackle Spencer Brown. A year removed from his long-term extension, Brown is starting to gain national support among analysts.
Matt Holder of Bleacher Report believes Brown is the "best kept secret" for the Bills moving forward.
"Offensive line is an unsung position group as a whole, and most people focus on left tackles, especially after the movie and book The Blind Side," Holder said. "But protecting the other edge is important, and Brown is one of the best at it, despite having never made a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team."
Brown has never made a Pro Bowl, nor has he been an All-Pro. Despite that, he remains an underrated player in Buffalo's elite offense at this point. They have shown a consistency to protect their franchise quarterback, and build a workman-like rushing attack.
Most right tackles in the league aren't given the same kind of respect as left tackles do, but it's clear that there have been many elite players at the position who have brought newfound respect. In the case of Brown, he isn't the kind of right tackle like Lane Johnson or Penei Sewell has been, but he is as qualified of a starter as they come.
And that's all Buffalo can ask for at this point.
