Marcus Rashford has continuously been linked to Barcelona throughout his loan stint at Aston Villa.
The England international undoubtedly has the quality to be one of the better players in world football, but hasn’t been able to show it in recent years.
At Manchester United, the 27-year-old’s flame was growing dim and as a result, a temporary switch to Villa Park made sense for all parties.
After a positive spell with the Villans, a permanent move could be on the cards, but links to Barcelona refuse to go away ahead of the summer.

Rashford wages could scupper Barcelona move
There is no doubt that the Villa number nine has qualities which could make him one of their best and most important players next season.
With a potential £40million buy option, it could see Unai Emery’s side make a swoop to make the loan move permanent in the summer.

The decision will ultimately be down to Rashford, who may favour a move to Barcelona, especially after their LaLiga triumph this campaign.
This could see the Englishman follow his national teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold to Spain as he looks set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
With that being said, former Leicester City and Brentford manager Martin Allen has been left unsure whether the Catalan giants would splash out on his potentially sizable wages.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Allen said: “He’s played well at Villa, that’s for sure.
“He’s certainly brightened them up with his speed and tenacity, as we all know, with how good of a player he can be.
“He’s certainly lost his way at Manchester United, and the fact that he wants to move to Barcelona, very similar to Trent Alexander-Arnold, maybe it’s time for him to experience that level.
“Could he play at that level? Without a shadow of a doubt. That would be something the owners at Manchester United would have to question as to why this has been allowed to happen.
“It is a very confusing situation for everybody with Rashford wanting out.
“*I don’t think Barcelona would pay his current wages, they might for some of their super special players like Lionel Messi, but not for Rashford, definitely not.*“

Aston Villa could miss out on Rashford deal
It could have been such a different end to the season for the Villans if the Man United loanee hadn’t picked up an injury.
This saw the forward miss out on the Crystal Palace clash in the FA Cup semi-final, as his absence was certainly felt in the capital.
Stat Marcus Rashford
Appearances 17
Goals 4
Assists 5
His absence would certainly leave a hole in the Villa side after forming an excellent partnership with fellow winter loanee Marco Asensio.
It will certainly be interesting to see what option Rashford takes up when he leaves B6, but there is no doubt that fans will want him back at Villa Park next season.
