Transfer news LIVE!

The summer window opens in less than two weeks as clubs across Europe continue to work on major deals in a bid to get business done early. Arsenal are keen to sign the striker they so desperately crave and Viktor Gyokeres appears to be top of their wishlist amid reports that a £59million fee has been agreed. Manchester United are firmly in the race but a deal may depend on them winning the Europa League.

The biggest deal of the summer looks set to involve Florian Wirtz, with Liverpool and Bayern Munich set to battle it out for the German star after Manchester City bowed out over projected spiralling costs. The midfielder is expected to cost around £250m, including all fees and wages. The Reds have already signed Jeremie Frimpong and are also working on a move for Milos Kerkez, who City also want.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has already confirmed his wish to sign a striker this summer and a cut-price £30m eal for Ipswich's Liam Delap appears too good to turn down. Man Utd and Newcastle agree, while Tottenham have also been linked. United are already expected to sign Matheus Cunha for £62.5m. The Club World Cup is accelerating transfer moves, with more movement expect soon. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live below!

Man Utd ready to battle Arsenal for Gyokeres

Manchester United will take on Tottenham tonight in the Europa League final, and a trophy may not be the only prize on offer should they win.

L'Equipe report that United will 'accelerate' their pursuit of Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres should they win and qualify for the Champions League.

Gyokeres is one of Europe's most sought-after talents, and a key target of Arsenal's, after scoring 96 goals in 101 appearances in Portugal, having been signed by Ruben Amorim.

The report claims United's interest is "very active", while Arsenal are somewhat dragging their feet and yet to submit an offer despite reports in Portugal that a deal was all but agreed and the player was expected to join the Gunners

Paris Saint-Germain, L'Equipe add, are out of the running entirely.

Newcastle in for Delap

Newcastle are the latest side to enter into talks with Liam Delap.

The Ipswich striker is spoiled for choice, with Manchester United and Chelsea both reported to be interested in his services.

He is available for £30million after Ipswich’s relegation triggered his release clause.

It had been reported that United were leading the race for his signature, though new information hints that Chelsea could edge in front should United fail to qualify for the Champions League.

All other players could be sold should a suitable offer come in, but the club is expected to demand considerable fees even for players they are more ready to let go.

Reports: Real Madrid in for Chelsea midfielder

Real Madrid are reported to be interested in signing Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez this summer in a blockbuster move which would be worth over £100million.

Joaquín Maroto of Diario AS reports that Los Blancos have been quoted a price greater than the £102m Chelsea initially paid for Fernandez after the Qatar World Cup, a fee Real are reportedly not willing to pay. Chelsea do not want the player to leave.

Fernandez is reported by TeamTalk to be interested in the move, with Spanish press reporting that he has sent his agent to the capital to close a deal.

Any move would likely be completed after the Club World Cup, which both Chelsea and Real Madrid are set to partake in.

Man United make goalkeeper approach

Manchester United have made contact with Emiliano Martinez over a potential summer move.

According to Diario AS, the player would prefer to stay in Europe rather than move to Saudi Arabia, and has already turned down multiple offers from the Saudi Pro League.

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Atlético Madrid are also reported to be interested in his services.

Villa are not keen to let him leave, though, and hope that qualifying for the Champions League could see him stay.

He was seen in tears on pitch at the weekend as Aston Villa played their last home tie of the season, leading many speculating that he was saying goodbye to the fans.

Cairney's Wrexham move in doubt

Tom Cairney is currently set to leave Fulham as a free agent this summer, confirming after Sunday’s comeback win over Brentford that he had not yet been offered an extension.

He was linked to a move to Wrexham, who this season were promoted to the Championship and had reportedly made the player a contract offer, but club Director Humphrey Ker has played down the rumours.

Speaking today to Chris Moyle on Radio X, he said: “We haven’t had that conversation yet.

“He’s a brilliant player, Tom Cairney, and I’m sure we’d be very grateful to have him.”
