Jack Porter and Max Dowman both played 90 minutes of England under-17s’ 1-1 draw against Belgium on Tuesday.
Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez opened the scoring for the Young Lions before Noah Fernandez equalised early in the second half.
It was their first game in Group B of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
England had more of the ball but Belgium kept Porter busy, firing eight shots on target, and while Dowman didn’t score or assist in this match, he still made headlines with his trickery on the ball.
He regularly carried his country forward, demonstrating excellent footwork and balance to create openings in the final third.
Porter made a number of good saves but there was nothing any goalkeeper could do to stop Fernandez’s postage-stamp free-kick bouncing in off the underside of the crossbar.
England are next in action against group leaders Italy on Friday, before facing Czech Republic on Monday.
