West Ham United are plotting an ambitious summer move to sign Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, journalist Anthony Chapman has revealed.
The Hammers are reportedly among four Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the French attacker, who is ‘pushing’ for a Stamford Bridge exit two years after arriving from RB Leipzig for £52m.
The London Stadium outfit are believed to be ‘heavily in the race’ for Nkunku this summer as they anticipate a major squad rebuild under Graham Potter.

According to Chapman, Potter has identified Nkunku as a ‘star target’ for his looming rebuild at the London Stadium, but faces competition from a host of European and Premier League sides for the 27-year-old.
Alongside the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are also admirers of the Frenchman, who is expected to depart Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea, meanwhile, would reportedly prefer Nkunku to leave for a club abroad, as Enzo Maresca ‘knows’ that selling him to a Premier League rival would be risky.
Nkunku, praised as a ‘world-beater’, has endured a frustrating campaign at Stamford Bridge, making just nine Premier League starts and scoring three goals.
The £300,000-a-week Frenchman last featured for the Blues during their shock Conference League quarter-final second-leg loss at home to Legia Warsaw in April and has been sidelined with an injury since.
West Ham are anticipating a busy first summer under Potter and are believed to be prioritising the signing of a new number nine.
According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Lille star Jonathan David remains Potter’s first choice, but the East London club are not in a position to land him at this stage amid fierce competition across Europe.
