Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo is fired up about Michael Strahan’s most recent interview with Bill Belichick.
Belichick, the 73-year-old North Carolina football coach who is dating 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, recently stopped by Good Morning America and the former Giants star asked Belichick about her but left several other hot topics off the table, including his benching of Malcom Butler in Super Bowl LII, his flirtation with the Atlanta Falcons for their head coaching opening and leaving Patriots owner Robert Kraft out of his book.
“Michael Strahan was not Mike Wallace on Good Morning America,” Russo said. “One of the most awkward interviews I’ve ever seen in my life. What ABC did there, ABC gave carte blanche to Belichick. ‘Bill, we want you on, tell us what questions you want us to ask.’ Horrific. ABC was horrific that essentially, they sold their journalism chops to make sure Belichick, because he was in the news, was on the air.”
Hudson has made headlines for her relationship with the former Patriots coach, including making $8 million in real estate investments since their relationship began and then reportedly getting banned from the UNC football facilities.
But Strahan did not ask about any of that.
“That was a horrific job by a worthy news organization. And then they put Strahan in a tough spot, because we all know Strahan is not Mike Wallace,” Russo continued. “No knock against Strahan, but that’s an impossible situation…he’s not gonna put him on the spot.”
“There’s so many things you gotta ask him, and they asked him nothing!” Russo ranted. “Oh my god it was bad.”
