Tuttosport: Why Tare might not turn to Sarri – former Barcelona boss among alternatives

AC Milan and Igli Tare want Vincenzo Italiano to launch a new era, but there are other head coach candidates being evaluated too.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan have finally resolved the sporting director issue. IIn the last few hours there has been a definitive acceleration for Tare, who was practically the only real candidate left on the list.

Yesterday, late in the evening, the confirmation arrived (still unofficial ) that the Albanian will become part of the management and will start in the next few days. Finally, the Rossoneri can start planning the next season, which will have to be the exact opposite of the one that is coming to an end.

The head coach issue

Tare’s first task will be to choose the new coach. No news has yet arrived regarding Sergio Conceiçao but his permanence at this point seems unlikely, given that results have not been what the current leadership wanted.

While there is a lot of talk about Maurizio Sarri, there was tension between the Italian and the Albanian at Lazio, with the report mentioning a ‘less than idyllic relationship’ between the pair.

Thus, we must watch out for alternative names such as Vincezo Italiano and Xavi. Italiano is a name that ‘could satisfy everyone’, while Xavi is an outlier in the identikit of wanting an Italian coach, but his work has been impressive enough for him to potentially be an exception.
