NFL Analyst Makes Shocking Giants Quarterback Prediction

The Cleveland Browns currently have the most tumultuous and debated quarterback situation in the NFL. However, the New York Giants are also in a similar situation.

The Giants brought in veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason, while holding on to Tommy DeVito and trading up in the first round to draft Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Wilson was inked to a one-year deal worth $21 million with $10.5 million guaranteed, which highly suggests that the Giants see Wilson as the starter for this season.

That may not be the case, however. ESPN NFL insider Mike Clay dropped his annual roster projections, and it wasn't Wilson who led the team in passing stats, it was Dart.

Clay has Dart playing in nine games, completing 183 of his 294 passes for 1,968 yards. He has Dart throwing 10 touchdowns to eight interceptions, while also picking up an additional 181 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Wilson, meanwhile, is appearing in seven games, per Clay's projections. Wilson completes 146 of his 231 pass attempts for 1,661 yards, throwing eight touchdowns to five interceptions. On the ground, Wilson picks up 106 yards and one touchdown, per Clay's projections.

Winston only gets into one game, but a production one at that, throwing for 244 yards on 22-of-35 passing, throwing one touchdown and one interception.

Interestingly enough, Clay lated lists Wilson as the QB1. So Clay is either projecting a Wilson injury, or Wilson getting benched midseason, with Dart leapfrogging Winston in the depth chart.

Clay has the Giants winning 6.6 games and drafting with the No. 5 overall pick next season.
