Arsenal's defensive duo Jurrien Timber and William Saliba are set to miss the season finale against Southampton. Timber, the full-back, has had ankle surgery, while centre-half Saliba is sidelined after a hamstring injury sustained in the victory over Newcastle.
Arsenal gaffer Mikel Arteta revealed to Premier League World TV: "William is going to be out for a few weeks unfortunately. He pulled his hamstring against Newcastle.
"Jurrien had surgery yesterday on his ankle, so he'll be out for a few weeks as well."
The Gunners are aiming to clinch second place in the league by avoiding defeat at St Mary's, while Manchester City are eyeing the chance to leapfrog them should they lose. But City require a significant goal difference turnaround and face Fulham away from home.
