AS Monaco are said to be interested in Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic after a glittering loan stint with RC Strasbourg. The performances of the 25-year-old Serbian international in Ligue 1 have made many clubs aware of his presence, among them Monaco.
Petrovic joined Chelsea in August 2023 on a £12.5 million transfer from New England Revolution. Having featured 31 times for the Blues, he was loaned to Strasbourg for the 2024–25 campaign. He featured in 31 league games and won the club’s Player of the Year award. He was also shortlisted for Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Season.
Monaco have their eyes on Petrovic as the club aim to strengthen their goalkeepers for the upcoming season. Chelsea, however, have to make a decision on Petrovic, with the club reportedly listening for offers on the goalkeeper before the Club World Cup comes around.
Petrovic’s stellar showings for Ligue 1, as well as Premier League and international experience with Serbia, make him a gem. Once summer is around the corner, only time will be able to tell whether the Blues retain the goalkeeper or listen to bids from suitors like Monaco.
