“Plan Confirmed” – Alex Valle Set for €6 Million Barcelona Exit

Alex Valle is set to complete a permanent transfer from Barcelona to Como this week, ending any lingering hopes of a Parkhead return if there were any.

The young full-back, who impressed in a brief stint at Celtic earlier this season, will join the Serie A side for a reported fee of €6 million.

Fabrizio Romano reported that the plane was confirmed on X.

Valle was brought in on loan last summer and showed promise despite limited game time behind Greg Taylor. He caught the eye, with many fans hoping the Hoops would look to make the move permanent, with suggestions of a release clause in his contract.

However, the 21-year-old cut short his stay in January, moving to Italy, where he has since impressed enough for Como to trigger a release clause in his contract.

Greg Taylor’s future remains uncertain, with strong speculation that he could leave the club following this weekend’s Scottish Cup Final. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Schlupp’s short-term loan from Crystal Palace also expires after the Hampden showpiece.

The left side of defence could now become a key area of focus in the summer window.

Kieran Tierney is returning to the Hoops, but he needs a strong, quality backup, particularly with Champions League qualifiers on the horizon and a demanding campaign ahead.

Valle’s spell at Celtic may have been short-lived, but he departed with a positive impression, having shown enough quality to suggest he could thrive at a high level. His move to Como is a good one for him, and he’ll kick on at a top level.
