While Wikipedia is convenient, it’s not always the world’s most reliable source. Kay Adams found that out the hard way on Tuesday during an interview with Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur.
Adams posted on X on Tuesday, asking her followers for questions to ask LaFleur during an upcoming interview on Up and Adams.
“Matthew Patrick Lafleur on @UpAndAdamsShow tomorrow,” Adams posted. “What should I ask him???”

The problem? Patrick is not LaFleur’s middle name. He made that correction during the interview.
“I don’t know who Patrick is, but…” LaFleur said.
“Is that not your middle name?” Adams asked.
“Matthew Robert,” LaFleur clarified.
“Why does it say Matthew Patrick on your Wikipedia? Are you joking?” Adams said.
It was now LaFleur’s turn to ask a question.
“When has Wikipedia been a source of credible information?” he asked.
“This is not the way to start this,” Adams replied.
Adams posted the exchange, along with clarifying the mistake.
“Matthew ROBERT Lafleur. Not ONE of you corrected me. I blame you all of for this start to the interview,” she joked.

In Adams’ defense, LaFleur’s Wikipedia did call him “Matthew Patrick LaFleur,” though it’s since been updated with his correct middle name. And while Wikipedia certainly shouldn’t be taken as an unassailable source, an NFL head coach’s middle name is a weird thing to get wrong.
