Jaylin Noel: Texans Rookie Wide Receiver Dynasty Outlook

Jaylin Noel was the second Iowa State wide receiver taken by the Houston Texans in the 2025 NFL Draft. Noel went in the third round (79th overall) to join his teammate Jayden Higgins, who was drafted in the second round. Where does he fit into the wide receiver room, and what is Jaylin Noel’s dynasty outlook?

According toKeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Noel is the WR55. Before the NFL Draft, he was the WR82, so his ranking has skyrocketed since his selection by Houston. Noel is ranked right behind Deebo Samuel, Kyle Williams, and Xavier Legette, while ranked ahead of Jalen McMillan, Calvin Ridley, and Cooper Kupp.

Noel is being drafted in the third round of rookie dynasty drafts and is the tenth receiver off the board, just after Kyle Williams.

Jaylin Noel Dynasty Outlook

The Texans revamped their offense this season after losing Stefon Diggs to the Patriots in free agency. Additionally, Tank Dell is projected to miss most of the season with an injury. The Texans drafted the two Iowa State wide receivers of Higgins and Noel, as well as trading for Christian Kirk from the Jaguars. These guys join superstar Nico Collins in the offense.

Collins and Higgins will be the two wide receivers on the outside, leaving a competition between Kirk and Noel for the slot role with Dell out. Kirk did not have a great season last year and missed most of the season with an injury. He will be a free agent after this season. This is a winnable job for Noel, but not guaranteed. Even if Kirk does leave in 2026, Dell could be back and retake the job.

The next question becomes whether C.J. Stroud can support three weapons in fantasy. Last season, Collins, Diggs, and Dell only played three games together. In those three games, both Diggs and Collins had two top-15 finishes. Dell’s finishes those weeks: WR49, WR95, and WR41, never having more than five catches. Stroud was looking to his two outside receivers instead of his slot receiver. Noel and Higgins are obviously different players from Dell and Diggs, but this could be a concern if this pattern continues.

Should You Draft Jaylin Noel in Dynasty Leagues?

No, I am passing on Noel in dynasty leagues. There is a lot of competition for targets in the offense, and there is no guarantee that Noel is even a starter in the next few years. Although most third-round targets in rookie drafts are just flyers, Noel does not have as high an upside as others do, such as Kyle Williams or a handcuff running back. Higgins is the Texans’ rookie that you want to have on your dynasty team. Noel just has too much target competition to thrive in fantasy, giving Jaylin Noel a disappointing dynasty outlook.
