Rob Gronkowski is confident the New England Patriots will knock off the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gronkowski, who notoriously dominated every time he faced the Steelers, says the Patriots have the Steelers’ number. Appearing on Bussin With the Boys, Gronkowski went through the Patriots’ schedule, and he is taking New England over the Steelers.
“We’ve got the Steelers’ number; the Patriots always take down the Steelers, no matter what,” Gronkowski said.
Gronkowski is not off base here. The last time these two faced off was in an ill-fated Thursday Night Football matchup for the Steelers at home, where Bailey Zappe torched the Steelers’ defense in a 21-18 win.
The Steelers got a win against the Patriots at home in 2018 behind a great defensive effort. That was when Tom Brady was still kicking it with the Patriots, but since Brady’s entrance and even after his departure, the Patriots have largely controlled this series.
The Patriots are 8-2 against the Steelers, including 2-0 in the post-Brady era. Pittsburgh has not won against the Patriots since that 2018 game. Now, Drake Maye is New England’s new quarterback in town, and they expect to take a leap with Mike Vrabel at the helm of their franchise as head coach.
