Three months after winning the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles can once again claim victory.
On Wednesday, the league’s owners held their official vote regarding the Green Bay Packers’ proposal to outlaw the “Tush Push.” And despite the initial momentum appearing to favor the Packers’ proposal, the effort to ban the play only garnered 22 votes — two fewer than the 24 votes needed to change the rule.
As a result, the Tush Push is here to stay and the reigning Super Bowl champions aren’t exactly being quiet about it. Taking to X just moments after the results of the vote were first reported, the Eagles posted a graphic featuring quarterback Jalen Hurts lining up for the franchise’s famous play, along with the caption “push on” written right above the team’s logo.
The opponent featured in the Eagles post? None other than the Green Bay Packers.

That obviously wasn’t a coincidence, nor was it that the Eagles uploaded a 26-minute highlight reel of the Tush Push to their official YouTube account moments later. As it turned out, the franchise’s X account was just getting warmed up too, as it spent Wednesday afternoon posting a litany of Tush Push-inspired memes.

At this point, details regarding how the vote played out remain few and far between, although we do know who at least some of the teams are that sided with the Eagles on keeping the supercharged quarterback sneak in place. We also know that ex-Eagles center-turned-ESPN analyst Jason Kelce made an appearance on behalf of his former team, clearing up the misconception that he retired because of health concerns regarding the play.
Entering Wednesday’s vote, all indications appeared to be that the Tush Push was on its way out, and yet, we now know it will remain at the Birds’ disposal for at least one more season. As was the case during the postseason, nothing seems capable of slowing down the Eagles these days — especially once they get anywhere near the goal line.
