Hansi Flick has shared his thoughts after [putting pen to paper on a new contract at Barcelona until 2027](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/21/24434347/hansi-flick-extends-barcelona-contract-until-2027-after-double-winning-season).
The German coach has decided to extend his stay at Barcelona after a stellar first season at the club that has seen his side finish top of La Liga and win the Copa del Rey.
Flick is already looking to the future and has a message for Barcelona’s fans.
> “The connection is very close, and it’s great to feel that way,” he told the club’s media.
>
> “The fans have given us a lot of support, because we’ve often had to come from behind, and you feel that the fans are there, and the players on the pitch feel it too. I want the same from this season to next.
>
> “I can tell them that we’ll try everything, to be better, and of course, to win titles. This is Barcelona, and we need to win titles.”
Barcelona’s coach also looked to the future and is confident he can get more out of his squad of players.
> “I’m happy to work with this team. I like staying in Barcelona and working at this amazing club, with these players. We have a great relationship, and now we’re starting from scratch. We have to work hard, like we did before. We have to improve, and we will,” he added.
>
> “I feel they have a spirit for growth and learning, and that’s what’s important to me. They want to be better every day, in every game. We work hard during the week, and in the games, on the weekend, we can control whether things are going well or if we need to go in a different direction.
>
> “That’s what I feel: that everyone is moving in the same direction, that we want to improve step by step.”
The Catalans wrap up their campaign at the weekend with a final game against Athletic Club.
