All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel has been known as one of the better all-around offensive weapons in the game since he was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2019.
Despite struggling to stay on the field in recent years, Samuel believes he can still be that guy.
He isn't the only one, either.
Now with the Washington Commanders after an offseason trade with the 49ers, Samuel has already received a vote of confidence from one former veteran of the organization.
Former Washington star wideout Pierre Garçon, during an appearance on the Up and Adams show, made it clear how happy he was to see Samuel become a Commander.
“Deebo is a similar player to me and Kyle Shanahan loves that,” Garçon said. “And (General Manager) Adam Peters is from San Francisco. So we were all in there together. So, you know, it was fate that kind of brought us all together and back to D.C. and we're happy to have Deebo in D.C. to help Jayden Daniels and, you know, our offense get to the Super Bowl.”
Samuel joins an offense with Jayden Daniels throwing the football as the franchise quarterback, and Terry McLaurin as the de factor #1 receiver. The addition of the veteran should only enhance what Washington is able to do on offense.
And with teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys fighting for title contention, the Commanders will need all the help they can get here.
