Matt LaFleur has put together an impressive run as the head coach of the [Green Bay Packers](https://totalpackers.com). After taking over following the firing of Mike McCarthy, he has proved the franchise right for believing in him to be the right guy.
While he has not won a Super Bowl, he has led a lot of successful teams for the Packers. He’s hoping to take the next step in 2025 and become a top-tier championship contender and the roster should give him a chance to make that happen.
Since taking over as the head coach in Green Bay back in the 2019 NFL season, LaFleur has compiled a record of 67-33. That success shows just how good he has been for the franchise.
Heading into the 2025 NFL season, LaFleur has a chance to break a huge NFL record.
During an [appearance on the “Up & Adams Show,”](https://x.com/UpAndAdamsShow/status/1925194116855374164) LaFleur learned from Kay Adams that with five wins he would break Don Shula’s record for most wins by a head coach in their first seven seasons.
Winning five games should be no problem for the Packers. Should they win less than that amount, it would be a colossal failure of a season.
Jordan Love and company appear to have the roster necessary to compete in the NFC. However, they do play in a stacked NFC North division that saw three teams make the playoffs last season. The Chicago Bears improved a lot as well during the offseason after not making the playoffs in 2024.
Green Bay should be a very good team this season and that should lead to LaFleur setting new NFL history.
