Victor Osimhen fires Chelsea clear£63m transfer message as Liam Delap move made

Chelsea only have a couple more days on the training pitches before they're back in action. Nottingham Forest will host the Blues at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon as they battle it out for a place in the UEFA Champions League.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge back in October. Chris Wood fired Forest ahead shortly after half-time before Noni Madueke found an equaliser on the hour mark.

The west Londoners dominated the clash, but they couldn't quite breach the visitors' low block. While Enzo Maresca puts together a game plan at Cobham, sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley will be laying the foundations to a busy summer transfer window.

So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the latest Chelsea news...

Osimhen rejects first offer of the summer

According to Italian newspaper Il Matino, Victor Osimhen has turned down an offer from Juventus. The Napoli striker, who has spent the season on loan at Galatasaray, was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer.

Despite having snubbed the Old Lady, the report claims Osimhen, who has a €75m (£63m) release clause in his contract, will leave the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium at the end of the season. It's said that he dreams of playing in the Champions League, which he could do for the Turkish giants.

Il Matino adds that Galatasaray have a good relationship with Napoli, so there would be 'no problem' if an offer was submitted. That said, the Italian newspaper claims Aurelio De Laurentiis does not intend to take any discounts on Osimhen, pointing to his release clause.

football.london says: "Victor Osimhen has sent Chelsea a pretty clear message here. I reckon he's holding out for an offer from the Blues. If the Nigerian's available for £63m – go and get him!"

Chelsea and Newcastle 'woo' United target

According to The Guardian, Chelsea and Newcastle United have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Liam Delap. The report claims the 22-year-old striker, whose release clause dropped to £30m after Ipswich Town's relegation from the Premier League, has already spoken to executives at Old Trafford to understand what a move would entail.

It's said that the Red Devils have offered a contract worth £150,000-a-week. While United have been on the front foot, The Guardian claim Chelsea and Newcastle have been 'wooing Delap behind closed doors'.

football.london says: "If Chelsea can't sign Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap would be the good alternative. He's reasonably priced and worked with Enzo Maresca before. I'd rather Viktor Gyokeres, but I reckon he joins Arsenal."

Brighton striker given transfer 'green light'

According to Fabrizio Romano, Joao Pedro will be allowed to leave Brighton this summer. The report claims the 23-year-old striker, who's been given a €70m (£59m) price tag, is open to a new chapter of his career.

It's said that Premier League clubs have been made aware of the opportunity to secure Pedro's signature, but the Seagulls will ultimately have the final say. The Brazilian has previously been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea.

football.london says: "I'm not convinced. Joao Pedro has shown flashes of quality this season, but I don't think he's quite ready to lead a frontline for a Champions League club. If he was priced a bit cheaper, perhaps I'd be a bit more open to a potential transfer."
