Arsenal and Liverpool join race for Julian Alvarez
Arsenal and Liverpool are now being linked with a shock deal for Julian Alvarez.
The Argentine striker is already being touted for a move away from Atletico Madrid, less than a year after leaving Manchester City for the Metropolitano Stadium in a surprise deal worth £82m.
Barcelona are said to be keen on signing Alvarez, who has thrived in LaLiga this term and scored 29 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions under Diego Simeone.
But according to reports from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, Arsenal and Liverpool are both also interested in the World Cup winner, with talks between his suitors and Atletico expected to begin as soon as next week.

Man Utd to step up Gyokeres move in Arsenal twist
Manchester United look poised to quickly step up their move for Viktor Gyokeres in a twist that could hurt Arsenal.
It seemed like the prolific Swedish striker was bound for the Gunners this summer at last as they look to finally land that statement signing up front, with his future likely to be decided after Primeira Liga champions Sporting Lisbon look to wrap up the double against rivals Benfica in the Portuguese Cup final on Sunday.
However, French outlet L’Equipe reported earlier this week that main transfer rivals Manchester United would accelerate their own swoop for Gyokeres after Wednesday night’s Europa League final.
Keen to move on from the bitter sting of defeat by Tottenham in Bilbao, that is now expected to be their focus in the coming weeks, after wrapping up the £62.5m arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Arsenal in talks over Rodrygo deal
Arsenal are said to be in talks over a stunning move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo.
The Brazilian forward has been a regular at the Bernabeu for years now, though uncertainty around his future has been bubbling away over recent weeks given that he hasn’t played for almost a month.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal - in the market for both a new winger and striker this summer - have begun talks with Madrid over Rodrygo as they seek a left-sided upgrade on compatriot Gabriel Martinelli.

Chelsea keen on Pedro
Are there any Premier League clubs not trying to sign a striker this summer?
Chelsea certainly are, having already been linked with a move for Liam Delap.
Joao Pedro is also on the list, according to Daily Mail, and the Blues discussed the possibility of signing the Brighton star earlier this week.
Chelsea are said to be willing to bid £50m for Pedro, and could potentially offer players as part of the deal.

Real Madrid to disrupt Liverpool's Wirtz plans?
Liverpool must be getting fed up of the mention of Real Madrid.
The Reds are said to be in a good position to sign Florian Wirtz if the Bayer Leverkusen star leaves Germany this summer, but that could change.
Sky Germany report that Real Madrid could make a move for Wirtz, with incoming Xabi Alonso a big fan having worked together at Leverkusen.
It’s claimed that the LaLiga giants will consider a bid if they sell Rodrygo, who has been linked with a summer exit.

Delap suits Chelsea's philosophy
The Daily Mail report that Chelsea remain interested in Liam Delap as they feel he suits the club’s transfer philosophy.
The club strategy has focused on signing young players on lower wages with an eye to developing them into stars, and Delap at 22 is seen to fit that bill.
Available at £30million, he is also seen to be better value for money than other, more expensive options.

Chelsea not interested in Rodrygo
Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is reportedly keen to take on a new challenge next season, and, while they are reported to be looking into signing a star winger, Chelsea are not thought to be interested in the player.
To sign Rodrygo, a 24-year-old worth as much as €100m, would not suit the Blues’ model, which is focused on signing young players on lower wages with an eye to developing them into top players.
Arsenal have emerged as a potential destination for Rodrygo, though, as they look to strengthen their options and upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli.

Chelsea would require 'significant' fee to unseat Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea are ready to resist any moves for Enzo Fernandez amid reports that Real Madrid are looking to land a new Galactico this summer.
The Argentina midfielder joined Chelsea from Benfica for €121m, and the Blues will only enter into negotiations if an offer ‘considerably north’ of that sum is received, according to Ben Jacobs.
It had earlier been reported that Real are not willing to pay such a fee, though Fernandez is thought to be interested in the move.
