Chelsea interest in player‘particularly high’–Negotiations already underway to beat Arsenal and Liverpool

Chelsea’s interest in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike is ‘particularly high’, with negotiations already underway to try and beat Arsenal and Liverpool to his signature.

That’s [according to RMC Sport](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/transferts/mercato-chelsea-cible-hugo-ekitike_AN-202505210709.html), who report that the 22-year-old is on Chelsea’s striker shortlist alongside Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Šeško.

They state that there’s a big chance Ekitike leaves Frankfurt this summer, with his current asking price skyrocketing as he continues to shine for the German side. He’s now valued at €80-100m, and both the player and the club have agreed to a transfer if their mutual interests are met.

Several English clubs have already approached the player and the club, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. But the Blues’ interest in him is particularly high.

They’ve placed him on their shortlist of striker alongside Benjamin Šeško and Victor Osimhen. Frankfurt are looking for a major profit, after spending €30m to sign him from Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants are also due 20% of any profit they make, pushing the asking price up further.

The plan, at this moment in time, is for Ekitike to perform well at the U23 Euros with France’s U21 team, something he hopes can push him closer to the senior French side. He’s keeping himself out of the ‘hustle and bustle’ of transfers for now.

But negotiations are already underway with several clubs, ‘notably Chelsea’, who may make an effort to get there before Arsenal and Liverpool do.
