_As the 2024/25 season comes to a close, our Official Global Betting Partners,_ [_Betway_](https://betway.com/en/sports/)_, look back at some of our best results, finest performances and most memorable moments._
_Here are their top five moments of the campaign from Mikel Arteta's men:_
5\. PSV Eindhoven 1-7 Arsenal
-----------------------------
Our most emphatic victory of the season came in the Champions League, as seven goals from six different goalscorers saw us blow away PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of the round of 16.
There was a raucous atmosphere before kick-off at the Philips Stadion, but we silenced the crowd inside 20 minutes as Jurien Timber opened the scoring with a towering header, before Ethan Nwaneri and Mikel Merino made it 3-0 after half an hour.
PSV scored from a penalty just before the break, but second-half goals from Leandro Trossard, Riccardo Calafiori and a double from Martin Odegaard ensured our progress to the quarter-finals was beyond doubt.
This was a ruthless attacking display at the home of the Dutch champions, and a clear statement that we were a side to be feared in the latter stages of the competition.
4\. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Arsenal
---------------------------------
The season’s first north London derby was a fiery affair at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where a trademark header from Gabriel proved to be the difference.
The Brazilian defender has scored five goals this season – four of which have been headers from corner kicks – and this winner was arguably the most important of all. He found space on the edge of the six-yard box and powered his header home from short range before celebrating with incredible passion in front of our away fans.
Having also been key to a rock-solid defensive display, Gabriel picked up the Player of the Match award – a feat he has accomplished on three separate occasions in the derby.
This was our third consecutive victory at the home of our rivals as we again gave our supporters a hard-fought win to savour.
3\. Real Madrid 1-2 Arsenal
---------------------------
We travelled to the Santiago Bernabeu with a famous win from 2006 living long in the memory, and hopes of another memorable European night.
It had been 18 years since Thierry Henry’s iconic solo strike when we arrived in Madrid for this Champions League quarter-final second leg, and a 3-0 lead from the home fixture meant we were in a strong position to eliminate the Spanish giants once again.
Amid an intimidating atmosphere, our defence held firm in the early stages and we almost took the lead from the penalty spot. Bukayo Saka then put us ahead from a brilliant team move in the second half, and while Real Madrid responded with a goal from Vinicius Jr, our confidence never wavered.
With qualification assured, Gabriel Martinelli then broke free in the final minute and coolly slotted into the bottom corner to ensure that, once again, we would be leaving the Bernabeu as the victors.
2\. Arsenal 5-1 Manchester City
-------------------------------
Our trip to the Etihad Stadium in September ended in agonising fashion, as a Manchester City goal deep in stoppage time robbed us of victory after a gutsy performance in which we played with 10 men for the entire second half.
We would not be held in February’s home fixture, however, as we produced one of our finest performances under Arteta in a stunning 5-1 win. Odegaard put us ahead after just two minutes, and we missed multiple chances to extend our lead before City drew level in the second half through Erling Haaland.
But it took just 38 seconds for us to go ahead again through Thomas Partey, before 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly’s brilliant finish made it 3-1.
Late goals from Kai Havertz and our other teenage sensation Nwaneri, put the finishing touches on an excellent team display.
1\. Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid
---------------------------
The first leg of our Champions League triumph over Madrid was one of the great nights in Emirates Stadium history.
The European champions came to N5 for this quarter-final tie having previously knocked out Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, and would present a tough test as we looked to progress to our first Champions League semi-final since 2009.
However, Declan Rice ensured that this game would always be remembered for his incredible pair of free kicks – the only ones he has ever scored in his career. The first was bent around the Real wall and past Thibaut Courtois to give us the lead in the 58th minute, and the second was even better, finding the top corner from 30 yards to make it 2-0.
Rice’s double put us in full control of a game in which we had been the better team all night, and Merino then swept home a third to put us in a commanding – and fully deserved – position heading into the second leg.
