Sandro Tonali, Will Osula, Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Callum Wilson warm up
Newcastle United will give Alexander Isak every possible chance to face Everton on Sunday. The Sweden international, who has been named in his country's squad for summer matches against Hungary and Algeria next month, travelled to London with Newcastle for last weekend's clash at Arsenal which ended in a 1-0 defeat. Although, his withdrawal was a last minute affair after needing a scan on the morning of the game.
Eddie Howe described the result of the scan as "nothing major" but Isak has been continually assessed this week. Howe faces the media on Friday morning at Benton and will provide an update on his fitness.
When asked if he was in with a shout of facing Everton, Howe told NUFC TV: "Of course he will have a chance." Without Isak, Howe would most probably turn to Callum Wilson after the No 9 led the line at the Emirates Stadium.
Although, one of the big debates within the fanbase was why William Osula was not getting more of an opportunity. Howe won't be swayed by public opinion on any selection decision and bases his picks on what he sees in training.
The other big decision Howe faces is whether to stick with a 3-4-2-1 system which was adopted at Arsenal or revert to his more familiar 4-3-3 which the head coach has used 34 times already this season in the Premier League.
Everton travel north with nothing to play for but pride with the Toffees guaranteed 13th place regardless of what unfolds in the final round of matches in the Premier League.
