Eagles Coach Continues Shows Greatness In Extension Talks

Not every organization can appreciate what a head coach like Nick Sirianni can bring to a team. Not every organization is like the Philadelphia Eagles, though.

Sirianni's four-year stretch as head coach in Philly has been the most dominant from a leader in team history. They have made the playoffs in every year the former Colts coach has been with the team.

Add two Super Bowl appearances and a title to the mix, and you get an Eagles team that is buzzing thanks to their passionate coach.

After signing a long-term extension with the club this week, Sirianni made it clear just how grateful he is to the fans, and the players who have helped him get to this point.

“I'm going to be able to raise my kids and they're going to be going through things and I'm going to be able to look back at things,” said Sirianni. “There's another reason I'm grateful, I'm grateful for that in the sense as well of players that are going to have to go through that because no one's exempt from adversity that you go through in the challenges of the NFL.

“So, I don't think you can have a grateful heart for the things that you've gone through to shape you to who you are. And then on the other end, go, 'Oh look, what do you say now?'... That gratefulness for the scrutiny and for the adversity and all those things that you said, it's not validating."

He may not have the mind of an x's and o's coach like a Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan, but Sirianni has owned Philadelphia's locker room better than any coach in team history before him.

It's what makes him so special to begin with.

And why he seems to just be scratching the surface on what his team can become.
