Jason Kelce’s role in ensuring that the ‘tush-push’ move is not banned in the NFL was recently lauded by Jed York, owner of the San Francisco 49ers On Wednesday, in the spring league meeting, a vote was taken to decide if the move definitely needs to be banned. The move against the tush-push was originally led by the Green Bay Packers and the 49ers hopped on the wagon.
However, the ban could not be passed as most of the NFL teams voted against it. The teams that voted against the ban were the Philadelphia Eagles, the Baltimore Ravens, the New England Patriots, the New Orleans Saints, the Tennessee Titans, the Miami Dolphins, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New York Jets, the Detroit Lions and finally the Cleveland Browns.
“Ton of respect for @JasonKelce definitely owe you a bourbon or two”Jed York tweetedthrough his X account, tagging Jason Kelce for his efforts to ensure that the tush-push is not passed.

The tush-push is a football play when the quarterback is pushed forward by his other teammates. The move, inspired from rugby, has become a classic move for the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite many other NFL teams trying to copy it, they have not been as successful as the Eagles. The move is considered controversial by many, citing that it does not show athleticism and the true essence of football.

Needless to say, the move is one of the reasons as to why the Philadelphia Eagles have been so successful in their games. During the past few months when the ban on the tush-push move was initiated by the Packers, Jason Kelce, who played for the team for 13 years, has been strongly advocating for the move.
Jason Kelce’s Former Quarterback Only Wants To Win
Meanwhile, Jason Kelce’s former team, the Philadelphia Eagles are in pretty safe hands with starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. While Hurts may not have the bright and sunny media image that other quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes does, he has set his sights on something simple and tangible, i.e. winning.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Hurts was asked about whether he cares about how his image has been painted in the public. To this, the quarterback simply responded that all those other things are “subjective”. He also reiterated that he simply aims to continue winning for the team. Hurts has been playing for the Eagles since 2020 and has won one Super Bowl for the team since then.
