Liam Delap has been urged to sign for Everton following his relegation with Ipswich Town.
The Manchester City academy graduate has earned plenty of suitors for his performances with Ipswich, despite not being able to guide them to Premier League safety.
Everton are one of the interested parties vying for his signature, and are willing to make the 22-year-old their first marquee signing of the transfer window.
David Moyes has bemoaned his team’s inability to kill off games, and will be hopeful that the latest developments will bring the striker closer to joining the Merseyside club.

Everton are serious about bringing in Delap
The England Under-21s forward has impressed in his first full season in the Premier League, despite being unable to guide his side to safety.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES
The ever-present forward found the back of the net 12 times for his side this season, amounting to one-third of their total goals scored.
His impressive physical attributes have seen him lead the line admirably, with Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – suggesting he would do very well with the Toffees under Moyes.
“If I were Delap, I’d definitely join Everton,” King said.
“He will have the chance to play every week. With the other clubs linked, it is going to be a rotational system. I think Delap could take his next steps with Moyes.
“If Everton have held talks, then they’re serious. There is no point talking to someone for the sake of talking to them, there has to be an end goal in mind.
“There isn’t any point in saying they’re considering him, they need to put the cards on the table and tell them they want him.”

Delap set for pivotal decision
The allure and financial power of clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United, who have also been linked with a move for Delap, may prove too tempting for Everton to compete with.
However, the goalscorer only moved away from another giant in Manchester City last year in search of regular first-team football, which proved to be the right choice.
Delap may be wise, therefore, to choose Everton over other bigger clubs to guarantee himself a sustainable platform to develop further, under the tutelage of a dedicated manager, rather than risk ending up on the periphery of a big club again.
