Alan Myers shares what he's hearing about Everton making a 'big marquee signing' this summer

Everton fans will be hoping to see the Friedkins pull off some big signings this summer.

January saw Everton hamstrung by PSR which led to just the addition of Carlos Alcaraz on a short-term loan.

With the club’s financial issues now behind them, Everton have now agreed to sign Alcaraz on a permanent deal from Flamengo.

David Moyes will now be keen to see the club push on when the transfer market does finally open.

Everton have already lost out on Liam Delap with the young striker deciding to join Chelsea to play Champions League football.

However, that should not distract the Blues away from what needs to be done this summer with plenty of new faces needed.

The Friedkins are looking to make a statement signing ahead of the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium over the coming months.

But there has now been some suggestion against that.

Everton’s summer transfer plans shared

With transfer meetings having been held, Everton are looking to address four key positions this summer in a bid to continue their progression.

Moyes worked wonders with the squad he took on from Sean Dyche’s time at the club, but he needs upgrades across most areas.

Taking to social media, Alan Myers was quizzed on what to expect from Everton this summer.

One fan listed a number of options such as:

Big marquee names

Young rising starlets with sell-on value

Overseas unknowns

EFL stars

Premier League experience.

To which Myers replied he expects to see all of those aside from the big marquee signings.

Considering the Friedkins are ready to splash some cash at Everton, this is not the news fans will be wanting to hear.

And it could well rule out a number of reported targets for the Blues.

Everton have shown interest in Jack Grealish

It has been suggested Everton are keeping tabs on Jack Grealish’s situation at Manchester City with an exit looking possible.

However, this is always going to be one which would really stretch the finances on Merseyside due to his wage demands.

Everton are keen to bring Richarlison back to the club this summer and a loan move could potentially provide a route back.

But it seems as if Myers feels the scale of the operation this summer may well hold the Toffees back from making any statement additions.

The Friedkins may have to get clever in the market and utilise loan deals if they want to bring a big name through the doors.
