Carlos Alcaraz is getting increasingly closer to being confirmed as Everton’s first signing of the summer but there is still an issue with the deal.
David Moyes will want to get transfers sorted quickly and efficiently this summer, with plenty to improve on in the squad.
A massive boost was raised on the Scotsman’s radar as Idrissa Gana Gueye is to stay at Everton, in brilliant news for the club.
The midfielder staying on gives Moyes not only the ability he showed this season, but also saves money for Everton on investing in a new midfielder.
Alcaraz is set to sign for Everton in another positive to Moyes’ plans, but there is still an obstacle to overcome.

One more thing to sort in Everton’s deal for Carlos Alcaraz
The Argentine has made the right impact, which has impressed Moyes enough to bring him in next season.
His winning goal against Newcastle clearly was the cherry on top for the Everton boss, who might have had his doubts after Moyes has been furious at Alcaraz.
But Alcaraz’s impact has spoken volumes about why Everton want his signature in a deal worth just £12.6m.

It’s a bargain, but the deal isn’t going smoothly as the club and player are still debating one thing.
Journalist Andre Hernan has suggested that the Toffees are still deciding whether they want Alcaraz on a three-year deal or a four-year deal.
“I just received some information here,” Hernan said.
“I was listening to Igor talk about Alcaraz, and it goes like this: about three hours ago, according to what I was told here, Everton activated the buyout clause for Alcaraz three hours ago, huh? That’s just now. What’s left now? Alcaraz’s agreement with Everton.
“There are two possibilities there for Alcaraz’s signing of a contract with Everton. A three-year contract or a four-year contract? That’s the question.
“Whether the contract will be long, a four-year contract or a three-year contract. But it’s already activated. Everton has already activated the final buyout clause with Flamengo, so that’s it.”

Alcaraz fits Everton to a tee and makes for a perfect first signing
The Friedkin Group just can’t seem to miss at the moment with their ongoings as Alcaraz makes for the perfect first deal under Moyes.
With the midfielder only being 22, it brings a fresh feeling to Everton of young, exciting talent, and Everton fans are definitely moved by Alcaraz.
Adding to this, he shares the same passion as the fanbase with Alcaraz calling Evertonians ‘crazy’, which reminds him of South American fans.
His short stint has shown that he will be an excellent asset to have full-time next season, as The Friedkins deserve a pat on the back.
Carlos Alcaraz’s Premier League statistics with Everton
Games played 16
Goals involvements 5 (2G + 3A)
Pass accuracy % 83.4%
Chances created 14
Duels won per 90 5.49
The deal is almost there, and the board need to make sure they keep Alcaraz happy so it can be finished with the deal expected to be done by next Friday.
A four-year deal seems like the wiser choice in this situation, but even if it is three, Everton are getting a player that suits them nicely.
