Everton are up and running in the summer transfer window after completing the permanent signing of Flamengo midfielder Carlos Alcaraz.
On Saturday, Everton announced that they had triggered the option to buy Alcaraz from the Brazilian club after a fruitful loan stint at Goodison Park.
Everton did not disclose the transfer fee, though reports say the Toffees have spent around £12million on the Argentine ace.
There was one thing in Everton’s official statement that concerned some Blues fans, namely the length of the contract.
Everton confirmed Alcaraz is contracted to the club until the end of June 2027, which some fans claimed was not enough.
However, The Athletic’s Patrick Boyland has provided a further update on Alcaraz that will come as a relief to fans.

How Carlos Alcaraz convinced David Moyes to sign him permanently for Everton
Alcaraz enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Everton, registering two goals and three assists from 16 outings.
For a while, it looked as though Moyes was not fully convinced by the 22-year-old, as per the Liverpool Echo.
However, Moyes began speaking more positively of Alcaraz towards the end of the season, identifying him for praise after his assist in the 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town.
He said: “It’s something a lot of the supporters have been asking about, Ili (Ndiaye) playing as a 10, and wanting to see more of Charlie Alcaraz.
“So we’ve given them another good opportunity to show what they can do.”
The Echo report also claimed that Moyes was speaking more positively about Alcaraz behind the scenes.
Alcaraz then wrapped up the season with an assist against Fulham and the only goal of the 1-0 win over Newcastle United on the final day.
