David Moyes looks set to be backed at Everton in the summer transfer window.

Moyes has done a remarkable job at Everton ever since returning to Merseyside, and how much further he takes the Toffees will largely come down to the transfer business they can conclude over the next few months.

With the arrival of Carlos Alcaraz on a permanent deal, the Merseysiders have already kicked off their summer business, though they will need several more additions of that calibre to start competing back at the top end of the Premier League.

With that in mind, finance expert Kieran Maguire has explained the financial situation at Everton heading into the window, and it will undoubtedly spark optimism.

Moyes to be handed big budget at Everton

Ambition will be a keyword this summer, and the hope will be that TFG are ready to show plenty of it now that the transfer window has arrived.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Season after season, the Toffees have been in the relegation conversation, and that can be stopped this summer if they recruit well.

Taking that into account, Maguire claims that a budget of up to £100million could be available for the Merseysiders, as they look to kickstart their new era at Bramley-Moore.

Via BBC Sport, the finance expert claimed that “one marquee signing is certainly possible”, while adding that the Toffees are likely to spend between £50m-£100m, unless they sanction more exits.

Of course, on the exit front, Beto has been linked with a move to Leeds for £30m, and the future of Jarrad Barnthwaite remains unclear.

Should both of those players leave, the budget would be increased massively.

Moyes can achieve something special next season

Bridging the gap on the teams above them will not be an easy task, though it is one that is possible if recruitment is right.

The addition of a striker will be needed, regardless of the whereabouts of Beto, while there are several other areas of the squad that need attention.

One thing that remains clear is that the Toffees will be afforded no margin for error in the decisions they make this summer as they look to progress on and off the pitch.
