Everton have identified Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande as a target ready for the summer window.
The 23-year-old has been an ever-present for the Gers ever since signing at Ibrox from Nordsjaelland on an initial loan deal in January 2024.
This saw the Light Blues make the Ivory Coast international’s switch permanent, ready for this campaign, where he has continued to be a regular starter.
It is clear that this has caught the eye of those away from Govan, with Premier League outfit Everton now showing an interest.

In what has been a difficult few seasons in G51, there is no doubt that the midfielder has been one of the bright sparks.

This has seen the Ivorian be a regular feature under both Barry Ferguson and Philippe Clement across various positions and competitions.
It could be said that his general goal output could be greater, with the majority of his appearances coming in a number ten-type role.

With that being said, at 23, he certainly has room to grow, which could make him an attractive prospect for sides away from Ibrox.
Everton chiefs have now identified the Ivorian as a potential target on a shortlist of other midfield options moving into the summer, according to the Express (1 June).
The Gers are said to be reluctant to lose Diomande, but the Toffees do have the finances to make an offer which would land the G51 club a profit just 12 months after his signing.
Diomande could turn sizable profit at Rangers
Obviously, keeping hold of key players will be huge for the Light Blues to make progress under the new regime of Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers.
With that being said, selling players for profit when the opportunity comes up has to be taken, as could be the case with Diomande.
If David Moyes wants the midfielder this summer and is willing to offer a fee more than the Gers paid, it would be a no-brainer to accept and reinvest across the squad.
This could prove to be a much wiser option for whoever the manager turns out to be as they look to build a side ready to compete with Celtic.
