Exclusive: How Nottingham Forest really feel about signing free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Nottingham Forest News can exclusively reveal how Nottingham Forest feel about signing Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The striker is set to leave the Toffees at the end of his current contract, following nine years at Goodison Park.

Evangelos Marinakis has been wanting a striker since January, with Forest currently having Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi in their ranks at present.

Forest finished seventh in the Premier League last season and will now need a bigger squad to take on the UEFA Conference League in 2025/26.

Calvert-Lewin is being linked with a host of clubs, and he might find himself spoilt for choice this summer.

Whether Nottingham Forest are interested in Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Given that he’s scored four England goals in 11 caps, it’s hardly surprising that clubs are getting linked with the striker who is still only 28-years-old.

Calvert-Lewin has scored 71 times in 273 appearances for Everton, but in recent seasons has struggled to stay fit for prolonged periods, making him a risky signing for anyone.

With that in mind, Nottingham Forest News can exclusively reveal that Forest won’t be one of the clubs entering the race to sign Calvert-Lewin.

MORE FOREST STORIES

Furthermore, the club have no desire whatsoever to sign Calvert-Lewin and will instead focus on other targets this summer.

Forest set to sign Igor Jesus

The Reds are focusing their efforts on more exotic locations in their search for a new striker, with the city of Liverpool not on the radar.

Forest are set to sign Igor Jesus from Botafogo in the coming weeks, with the player set to join following the Club World Cup in the United States.

Jesus has been hailed by Brazilian experts and it would appear that two more Botafogo players are going to be joining the club too, with left-back Cuiabano and central defender Jair Cunho checking in.

At 24, Jesus has bags of time on his side to keep developing and his arrival should feel like a step forward.

The same might not have been said about the addition of Calvert-Lewin to the squad and he can forget about coming to Forest this summer.
