Arsenal are on the lookout for a new left winger in this summer transfer window.
Indeed, while there’s been a lot of talk about Arsenal signing a new striker as of late, a new left winger is also on the agenda.
Nico Williams has been strongly linked with Arsenal, while Rafael Leao is reportedly on Arsenal’s radar.
Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has been discussing some of his favourite moments of this past season, and he’s reserved some special praise for Ademola Lookman.
The pundit says that Lookman winning the African Player of the Year award was a great moment, before, interestingly, urging Arsenal to sign him.

Ian Wright wants Arsenal to buy Ademola Lookman
Wright spoke about Lookman winning the African Player of the Year award before urging Arsenal to sign the attacker.
Arsenal have been linked with Lookman in recent times, and Wright wants the Gunners to proceed with this deal.
“You know something? You know, I’m going to go with Ademola Lookman winning the African Player of the Year in respects of that man’s journey,” Wright said.
“Then I think that’s one of the most devastating performances I’ve seen in any final with that hat-trick he scored.
“You know, it’s just, I can’t help but look at his dark moment where it would have been dark for him. You know, especially all those loans going to another country. And you know what?
“He never had no problem going wherever he needed to go to find it. And then obviously, like you say, you find your place. Like Scott McTominay’s found that.
“Like he’s found with Atalanta. I hope we can buy him Arsenal.
“I would love someone like him to come back to the Premier League and say I have unfinished business with the league.”
Ademola Lookman’s Premier League record
As Wright says, Lookman has unfinished business with the Premier League.
The Nigerian has previously played for Everton before joining RB Leipzig in a £22m move, ahead of two loan spells at Fulham and Leicester City.
Lookman hasn’t had the best of times in the Premier League in the past, as the stats show.

Games 96
Goals 11
Assists 6
There are two ways to interpret that data. On one hand, as Wright suggests, this is a talented player who never found his feet in England.
On the other hand, you could suggest that English football doesn’t suit a winger of Lookman’s stature or skillset, and Arsenal should steer well clear of this one.
