England Under-21s head coach Lee Carsley will be sticking around until at least the end of the 2027 European Championship, having penned a new deal.
The 51-year-old former [Everton](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/everton-fc) midfielder took charge of the senior squad temporarily last summer after Gareth Southgate stepped down, guiding them through five victories and one defeat in six Nations League encounters.
Carsley was tipped to take over as England's full-time boss before Thomas Tuchel was chosen; nevertheless, he has returned to his post with the U21s as they get ready for their 2025 Euros campaign in Slovakia.
"I'm delighted to extend my time with the FA," commented Carsley. "It's a privilege to have the opportunity to work with a young, talented group and help develop them on the international stage.
"While the future is exciting, our immediate priority is this summer's UEFA U21 Euro in Slovakia as we attempt to emulate the achievement of Dave Sexton's teams in 1982 and 1984."
England are set to commence their quest against Czechia on Thursday, June 12, followed by further clashes in Group B with Slovenia and Germany.
Friday is when Carsley is expected to announce his final selection for the tournament.
