Three players Everton should consider signing if Jarrad Branthwaite leaves including £8m talent …

Reports have suggested that Everton could lose talented defender Jarrad Branthwaite this summer amid Premier League interest.

After another bright season on Merseyside, Jarrad Branthwaite has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs.

Most recently, Tottenham registered an interest in Branthwaite as they look to replace Christian Romero, who is set to leave the club this summer.

Additionally, Chelsea are thought to be keeping tabs on Branthwaite over a possible summer move. Should he leave Everton this summer, David Moyes would require a large transfer fee for Branthwaite to fund a replacement.

While the 22-year-old is thought to be happy at Everton, Branthwaite could be tempted by Champions League football, which Chelsea and Tottenham can both offer him next season.

With Branthwaite leaving Everton a genuine possibility, here are three players whom Moyes should consider replacing him with.

John Stones

A former Toffee, John Stones has done wonders at Manchester City, but it now looks like he is ready to move on to embark on the next stage in his career.

Stones was recently linked with a return to Everton, where he would bring years of experience winning trophies and playing at the highest level with him.

At 31, Everton fans still think Stones is world-class, despite making just 11 Premier League appearances last season. Stones signed for Man City for a fee of £47m in 2016, but Everton should be able to sign him for a significantly lower fee this summer.

Last weekend, Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford was spotted with Stones at a Formula One race in Spain. Perhaps the fellow England international has been in his ear about a possible move.

Jarell Quansah

There is no doubt it would be a controversial move, but Jarell Quansah has the quality to be a starting centre-back for Everton.

Despite making 13 top-flight appearances during the 2024/25 campaign, Quansah picked up a Premier League winners’ medal with Liverpool, but could be moved on this summer for more game time.

Appearances 25

Clean Sheets 8

Tackles/90 0.8

Quansah is linked with a move to Everton, and would become the first Liverpool player to join their fierce rivals since 1992.

Reports have stated that Quansah would cost Everton as much as £29m this summer, a fee they should be able to afford with The Friedkin Group set to back Moyes.

Georgios Vagiannidis

A slightly left-field option, but if Everton are looking to sign a much cheaper alternative to Branthwaite, then Georgios Vagiannidis is the player Moyes should go for.

After a bright season at Greek side Panathinaikos, Vagiannidis has attracted interest from clubs throughout Europe.

Everton are believed to be one of those teams, but reports have claimed they must fight off the likes of Marco Silva’s Fulham for his signature.

Additionally, Vagiannidis has a release clause of just £8m, meaning they would have a large chunk of Branthwaite’s transfer fee left over to spend improving other areas of the squad.
