Report: Everton set to test the resolve of Jack Grealish’s Manchester City teammate, he’s…

Everton are looking into the prospect of potentially signing Jack Grealish this summer in what could be a genius move.

The Friedkin Group might have made Everton the landing spot for players who are out of form to rediscover their fortunes under David Moyes.

One of these is Grealish who Everton have been tipped to sign, as Pep Guardiola is likely to let the 29-year-old leave this window.

The English international is in desperate need of an upward trajectory after his £100m move to City has ultimately failed.

Moyes could also give another City star a lifeline, along with Grealish, as Everton put their interest on the table.

Everton emerge as ‘suitors’ for Man City star Kalvin Phillips

The likelihood of Grealish leaving Manchester this summer heightened after Guardiola left Grealish out of City’s Club World Cupsquad.

Moyes would no doubt love the opportunity to give these sorts of players the spark they are desperately searching for, but £40m for Grealish seems very steep.

The Friedkins might have to do some hassling to ensure all parties are happy, but away from Grealish, it seems like the owners could increase their raid on Man City.

CaughtOffside have revealed that Everton, along with Fulham and Crystal Palace, are emerging as ‘suitors’ for Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips is another who doesn’t know what his future holds, but is certainly in need of a rejuvenation like Grealish, but a return to Leeds United is also on the cards.

The outlet reports that Phillips is ‘open to other offers’ as a departure from Guardiola’s side is highly likely, along with Grealish.

Everton have an advantage over other clubs in landing Phillips

It’s clear that the Toffees are looking into the strategy of signing players who could be offloaded by bigger sides.

There are cases of this working previously, as Aston Villa’s decision to take Marcus Rashford on loan from Man United worked to a tee.

Both Grealish and Phillips are in dire need of a change in their careers, and the midfielder might see fit to choose Everton.

This is due to his short stint at West Ham, as, albeit unsuccessful, he still worked with Moyes and, knowing the Scotsman, he would’ve taught him valuable lessons which he can build on at Everton, and rediscover the form that got him his £42m transfer to City in 2022.

Not only this, but Everton also contacted Phillips in the summer as a possible deal looked to be on.

Like Grealish though, it seems like excessive wage demands stand in the way, and The Friedkins will have to be smart if they want this double deal to happen.
