Manchester United seriously considering move for £43m Everton disaster signing - journalist

Manchester United are seriously considering a move for a former Everton player who endured a disastrous spell at Goodison Park.

The first part of the transfer window is underway, and the Toffees are eager to get their business done ahead of the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes wants to improve four positions in his Everton squad this summer, with the attack being the position most in need of improvement.

The transfer window also means that former Everton players could look for moves elsewhere, and that looks to be the case for Moise Kean, who is considered a massive flop on Merseyside after his move to the club in 2019.

Now, a journalist has shared Manchester United’s intentions to sign Kean and exactly how much it will cost them.

Manchester United exploring move for Everton flop Moise Kean

Joining the club as a promising teenager, Everton fans are sure to have thought Kean would hit the ground running and become a success at the club. However, things did not play out like that at all.

A poor first season, which only saw him score twice, led to loan spells at PSG and Juventus. He was able to show his calibre at the two European giants, but it was not until Kean went to Fiorentina that the goals came flooding in.

The Italian scored an impressive 19 goals in Serie A during the 2024/25 campaign and is now attracting interest from the Premier League.

According to Italian journalist Eleonora Trotta, Man United have followed Kean closely this season and are seriously considering making a €52m (£43m) bid for the 25-year-old.

The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha and look likely to bring Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo to Old Trafford as well.

What Moise Kean said about his time at Everton

For many fans, Kean will be remembered for his early substitution by Duncan Ferguson after a rather poor performance against Man United in 2019.

Despite the move being considered a disaster by Everton fans, Kean holds no grudges against anyone at the club.

In a recent interview, Kean said he does not regret joining Everton, as it may not have led him down the path he is on today.

“My adventure in the Premier League with Everton was a great experience, even if in England it didn’t go the way I would have liked,” he said

“But you can learn from everything, and you can always get out of difficult moments.”

Everton fans could soon see Kean back in the Premier League after his unsuccessful spell with them years ago.
