The transfer window may have closed temporarily until Monday, June 16, but Wolves are hard at work in an attempt to secure some early deals.
After the departures of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester United and Manchester City, respectively, Vitor Pereira has some much-needed cash to play with.
Wolves are already looking at Gerard Martin to replace Ait-Nouri, potentially triggering his £10 million valuation, while the importance of finding a successor to Cunha is even greater.
The centre-forward scored 17 goals in all competitions last term and was influential in their survival quest. But finding someone magical to fill the Brazilian’s void isn’t the only transfer problem on Pereira’s Wolves agenda.

Wolves, Everton and Fulham want to sign free agent Vladimir Coufal
As captain Nelson Semedo is set to leave Wolves once his contract expires, the overhauled recruitment team will be looking at ways to replace the Portuguese international.
Wolves have offered Semedo a generous four-year contract, yet with weeks until his deal expires, the 31-year-old is still deciding his future and has interest from the likes of Galatasaray, Manchester United, Benfica and most recently, Marseille.

So, in preparation for his departure, journalist Pete O’Rourke reports that Wolves have joined Everton and Fulham in the race to sign Vladimir Coufal on a free transfer.
The experienced right-back was set for release by West Ham following the 2024/25 campaign, and is currently on the lookout for a new club.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Considering he turns 33 in August and is being released by a Premier League rival, links to the Czech Republic international are questionable.
Coufal isn’t suited to Pereira’s system on paper, as he doesn’t possess the pace and power to fly up and down the right flank.
That being said, the 32-year-old did amass 20 assists for the Hammers in 180 appearances for the club, and is arguably someone who would benefit Jorgen Strand Larsen with his crossing.
Coufal isn’t the type of player Wolves need
Max Kilman has lauded Coufal as ‘great’ after watching the experienced Czech Republic international become an iconic player in the club’s history.
With captain Semedo potentially heading for the exit, perhaps Wolves see Coufal as a cheap replacement for him and someone who would fill his leadership void.
On a free transfer, Pereira can do a lot worse than the experienced Premier League defender but considering his age and what they require in the system, he isn’t someone the Portuguese should pursue.
Wolves need someone highly energetic and speedy to occupy a position down the right, and those who have watched Coufal know he’s the opposite of that.
