The Kings will bring in another potential second-round pick for their seventh pre-draft workout Wednesday at their Golden 1 Center practice facility in Sacramento.
Wisconsin guard John Tonje is viewed as the top prospect in Wednesday’s workout. Other prospects who will be in Sacramento for Wednesday’s workout include Arizona guard Caleb Love, Baylor guard Jeremy Roach, Kentucky guard Jaxson Robinson, Washington center Great Osobor and Appalachian State center CJ Huntley.
Tonje and Love are both considered possible second-round picks in the 2025 NBA draft, which will be held June 25-26. The Kings don’t have a first-round pick in this year’s draft — that belongs to the Atlanta Hawks — but they will have the 42nd overall pick in Round 2.
Tonje started his college career at Colorado State before transferring to Missouri and Wisconsin. He averaged 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.7 steals as a senior for the Badgers, shooting 46.5% from the field and 38.8% from 3-point range.
Bleacher Report’s latest mock draft has Tonje going to the Cleveland Cavaliers at No. 49. Yahoo Sports has him going to the Chicago Bulls at No. 45 while NBAdraftroom.com has him going to the Utah Jazz at No. 53
Love, a 6-2, 203-pound shooting guard, spent three years at North Carolina and two at Arizona. He averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals as a senior with the Wildcats, shooting 39.8% from the field and 34% from 3-point range.
NBAdraftroom.com has Love going to the Indiana Pacers with the 54th pick in the draft.
Roach is a 6-foot, 180-pound point guard who spent four years at Duke before concluding his career at Baylor. He averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 42.9% from 3-point range in his final season at Duke. As a senior at Baylor, he averaged 10.0 points, shooting just 33.3% from beyond the arc.
Robinson, a 6-4, 192-pound shooting guard, played for Texas A&M, Arkansas, BYU and Kentucky. He averaged 13.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his final season with the Wildcats, shooting 37.6% from long distance.
Osobor, a 6-8, 289-pound center, spent two seasons at Montana State, one at Utah State and one at Washington. As a senior, he averaged 14.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.9 steals for the Huskies.
Huntley is a 6-10, 190-pound center who spent five years at Appalachian State. In his final season, he averaged 15.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.7 blocks while shooting 49.3% from the field and 35.6% from 3-point range.
