Milos Kerkez has shown himself to be a fiercely loyal team player - a trait Liverpool would warmly welcome as part of the full-back's anticipated summer transfer to the Premier League champions.
While that's being sorted, the Hungarian has sent a heartfelt message to former Bournemouth team-mate Dean Huijsen, who has finally been revealed as a Real Madrid signing after turning down the Reds and Premier League competitors including Chelsea.
As part of a defensive shake-up, Liverpool have already snapped up right-back Jeremie Frimpong and are eyeing Kerkez for the left flank, ready to ramp up their pursuit once attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz is on board in what could be a British record transfer. There was a time when a third defender, Huijsen, might have made an early summer move to Anfield too.
After a standout debut season with the Cherries, earning him a nomination for the Premier League young player of the year award, the 20-year-old had a £50m release clause reportedly set to be activated by either Liverpool or several of their top-tier rivals.
But when Real Madrid came calling, no English club could compete, and the Spaniard sealed a move to the Santiago Bernabeu before the 2024/25 season wrapped up.

Huijsen has now been officially unveiled in the Spanish capital to fans, and Kerkez's warm message to his former team-mate has been shared on Instagram stories.
It featured a red heart emoji on a repost of the centre back's original post, reports the Liverpool Echo.
If he manages to seal his move from Bournemouth, Liverpool will be hoping that Kerkez can forge strong bonds with his new teammates on Merseyside.
The left-back was rumoured to be on Real's radar before the summer transfer window opened. However, it's widely reported and suggested by his recent social media activity that he's chosen a different path to Huijsen, favouring a move to Liverpool as his next career progression.
Significantly, Kerkez was absent from Hungary's first international match in June despite being selected for the squad. He was later confirmed to have withdrawn from the team ahead of the second game due to 'private reasons'.

While a potential transfer wasn't mentioned as the reason for this decision, it remains a significant possibility.
