Leicester City stalwart 'on radar' at Manchester United and Everton

Everton are interested in a second Leicester City player, according to a report.

The Toffees, who enjoyed a big upturn in fortunes when David Moyes replaced Sean Dyche in January, have long been connected with left-back Victor Kristiansen.

The Dane, who played regularly under both Ruud van Nistelrooy and Steve Cooper last season, looks set for a King Power exit just as he did the last time the Foxes were in the Championship.

Meanwhile website Everton News cites talkSPORT journalist Ben Jacobs, as saying Everton also have Wilfred Ndidi ‘on their radar’ as the Nigerian looks another prime candidate to move on this summer.

Ndiddi joined City in 2017 and has made 303 appearances for the club, with 28 Premier League games coming last term.

He signed a new contract last summer, which runs until 2027 but having brought the club back to the top flight once, it would be a surprise to see him stick around again.

Jacobs even claims Manchester United a considering a move for the 28-year-old as they look to rebuild their misfiring midfield.

Ndidi was paired with Boubakary Soumare during last season’s run in, while City also have Oliver Skipp and Harry Winks as options in the middle of the park. It has been claimed that Ndidi could leave for as little as £9million. He has also been linked with Atletico Madrid.

As for Kristiansen, in April TEAMtalk claimed Moyes is ‘keeping tabs’ on the 22-year-old who could move away to preserve his international claims. He spent the 2023/24 campaign with Bologna as he balked at Enzo Maresca’s plans to use him as a left-sided centre back.

van Nistelrooy is still in charge, but it remains unlikely that he will be in the dugout when the season begins in just over eight weeks’ time.

It increasingly feels like van Nistelrooy’s departure hinges on finances. And so, the situation may not change until the beginning of a new accounting year on July 1, or until sales go through this month.

But while there’s more speculation on outgoings compared to incomings, there has been nothing concrete. Nobody is yet on the verge of an exit.

There’s plenty who are contenders to go though. Add up the players who City may sell for PSR profits, players who City may sell to get their wages off the books, players who are seemingly angling for a move away, and players who are being told they need to move on protect their international futures, it’s a significant list comprising around half the squad.
